The operation disrupted the logistical and financial capabilities of this organized armed group operating in the western part of the department of Huila.
As part of military operations aimed at weakening organized armed groups operating in the department of Huila, troops from the 26th Cacique Pigoanza Infantry Battalion, part of the 9th Brigade, in coordination with the Judicial and Criminal Investigation Division (Sijín), DEUIL – Organized Crime, and with the support of the 5th Aviation Mobility and Maneuver Battalion and the Colombian Aerospace Force, engaged in a firefight with alleged members of the Hernando González Acosta Structure in the rural area of Los Pinos, within the jurisdiction of the municipality of La Plata.
As a result of the operation, seven alleged members of this illegal group were captured. Among them is the individual known by the alias Alexis, identified as the alleged financial leader of the organization, a role he reportedly assumed on March 19, 2026, following the death of alias Negro José.
According to military intelligence, alias Alexis is believed to be responsible for managing the group’s finances and coordinating its criminal activities in the rural villages of Belén, Gallego, Villa Lozada, Los Pinos, and Las Mercedes, within the municipality of La Plata. He is also believed to have been involved in criminal intelligence operations and in the expansion of the criminal organization into areas of the municipalities of La Plata and Íquira since 2022.
During the operation, authorities seized 2 handguns, 20 9-millimeter rounds, 41 5.56-millimeter rounds, 8 7.62-millimeter rounds, 2 pistol magazines, one 7.62-millimeter ammunition magazine, one-quarter of a unit of pentolite explosive, one-quarter of a unit of C-4 explosive, 2 electric detonators, 5 meters of detonating cord, summons flyers, a banner referring to the Hernando González Acosta Front, a pickup truck, and several cell phones. Those arrested and the seized material were turned over to the competent authority to proceed with the corresponding legal proceedings.
During the operation, a non-commissioned officer of the National Army was wounded by a gunshot. The soldier was promptly evacuated and transferred to the Hospital Universitario de Neiva, where he is receiving specialized medical care.
The Ninth Brigade will continue to carry out joint, coordinated, and interagency military operations to weaken the organized armed groups operating in the department of Huila, reaffirming its commitment to protecting the civilian population and ensuring the security and stability of the territory.
