In the municipality of Quibdó, the National Army mobilized and deployed rescue soldiers specialized in debris removal, search, and rescue, with the aim of assisting in the location and care of individuals who may have been affected or are missing following the emergency.

As part of the capabilities deployed by the Army, two canine teams specialized in search and rescue were deployed, prepared to support relief and recovery efforts in disaster scenarios. The deployment of these capabilities is being carried out in a coordinated and integrated manner with local and departmental authorities and the National Risk Management System, with a firm commitment to protecting lives and providing timely support to affected communities.

The National Army keeps its capabilities on standby and will continue to support the authorities and the people of Chocó as the response to this emergency progresses.

Likewise, in the city of Cali, our soldiers from the 80th Disaster Response and Prevention Engineer Battalion are continuing search and rescue operations in the El Refugio neighborhood, following the collapse of an eight-story building caused by the earthquakes recorded this morning.

With our specialized capabilities and the commitment of our soldiers, we are working in coordination with civil, national, departmental, and local authorities to address this emergency and support those in need.
