In a ceremony filled with solemnity, honor, and military spirit, the flag-swearing ceremony for the first recruitment contingent of 2026 took place, an event symbolizing commitment, in which 12 soldiers from the Recruitment and Reserve Control Command reaffirmed their loyalty and dedication to service as they began their military careers in the service of their country.
During the ceremony, 69 young people, 40 women and 29 men, took the traditional oath of allegiance to the flag, reaffirming their decision to serve Colombia with discipline, responsibility, and commitment. Among them were 12 soldiers who are now part of the Recruitment and Reserve Control Command, who took this important step with pride and a sense of institutional belonging.
The formal ceremony represents one of the most significant moments in military training, as it symbolizes the bond of honor between the soldier and the nation. The oath to the flag marks the beginning of a phase of personal growth, values training, and service to Colombians through the military institution.
The new recruits distinguished themselves during their initial training for their discipline, attitude, willingness, and compliance, demonstrating fundamental qualities such as respect, obedience, leadership, and teamwork. Their performance reflects the commitment of a new generation that has voluntarily chosen to undertake military service as part of their life plan and contribution to the country.
Likewise, the National Army reminded the public that the final days of the enlistment process for the second contingent of 2026 remain open, inviting young Colombians between the ages of 18 and one day before turning 24 to visit the nearest military district and join the institution.
Military service continues to establish itself as an opportunity for comprehensive training, personal growth, and building a future, allowing young people to acquire experience, values, and tools for their personal and professional lives.
With this ceremony, the National Army reaffirms its commitment to training soldiers of integrity who are prepared and committed to defending the sovereignty and well-being of all Colombians.
