The modern infrastructure has 36 double rooms that will comfortably accommodate 72 national and foreign students from the Centro de Entrenamiento Avanzado de Ala Rotatoria (CEAAR).
In a significant ceremony held at the Tolemaida Military Fort in Nilo, Cundinamarca, the commander of the National Army, General Luis Emilio Cardozo Santamaría, officially received a three-story barracks intended to house national and foreign students for training in UH-60 and H1N1 helicopter pilot and technician courses, an exclusive capability of the National Army in the region, made available to all armies in the region thanks to the support of the United States Government.
The infrastructure, built as part of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and within the framework of the American Military Mission in Colombia, has 36 double rooms, each with capacity for two people, which will allow it to accommodate 72 students. Each floor has a set of bathrooms and a laundry room, ensuring decent and functional conditions for the rest and well-being of the personnel in training.
This project marks a milestone in the development of the Centro de Entrenamiento Avanzado de Ala Rotatoria (Advanced Rotary Wing Training Center) (CEAAR),
as part of the strategic project to strengthen the instruction and training capabilities of the National Army for the Armed Forces, the police of Colombia, and the Latin American continent.The project began in late 2023 and represents not only an advance in infrastructure, but also a firm commitment to excellence in military aeronautical training.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. John McNamara, chargé d'affaires at the U.S. Embassy, accompanied by a delegation of officers, noncommissioned officers, and civilian officials from the U.S. Army.
General Cardozo thanked the United States Government for its support and praised the efforts of the engineers, technicians, and administrative staff who made the completion of this important project possible.The National Army continues to project itself as a regional leader in military aviation, committed to the transformation and modernization of its operational capabilities, for the benefit of defending the country's sovereignty and peace, and contributing to hemispheric security.
