Activities in San Luis de Palenque

Response teams began cleanup and mud-removal efforts in areas impacted by the emergency, supporting the restoration of homes and the reopening of passageways affected by flooding. Simultaneously, they maintained the supply of drinking water to the population and continued waste removal to facilitate the restoration of safe conditions for mobility and habitation.

Actions in Trinidad

In this municipality, preventive evacuations were carried out in the rural areas of Santa Marta, San Joaquín, and Chaparrito as a protective measure against rising water levels. Additionally, soldiers conducted cleanup and mud removal efforts in the La Polita neighborhood and assisted with the distribution of humanitarian aid to affected families in the rural area of San Pedro.

Consolidated results from the third day of operations:

- 69 people evacuated
- 41 pieces of furniture and household goods brought to safety
- 41 animals rescued
- 35,000 liters of drinking water supplied
- 180 humanitarian aid packages delivered
- 650 linear meters of roads cleared
- 5,600 people assisted

Operations continue uninterrupted to assist communities affected by the rainy season. Through these actions, the National Army’s Military Engineers reaffirm their commitment to protecting lives, mitigating risks, and facilitating the recovery of affected areas, in coordination with local authorities and agencies of the National Disaster Risk Management System.
