The National Army located an illegal warehouse in Rionegro, Antioquia, containing more than 100 kilograms of cocaine ready for distribution

As part of the sustained offensive being carried out by Fourth Brigade troops in eastern Antioquia, soldiers from the Eastern Military Gaula, together with the CTI’s Specialized Anti-Narcotics Group, located a temporary illegal narcotics warehouse in a rural area of the municipality of Rionegro.

The military operation led to the discovery of a location allegedly used for the storage of illicit substances. According to findings, the drugs were reportedly ready for distribution and subsequent transport out of the country, based on the packaging found at the site.

During the operation, approximately 100 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were seized. This operational success deals an economic blow of nearly 1 billion pesos to illegal groups involved in drug trafficking, while also preventing the distribution and sale of this substance.

The National Army reaffirms its commitment to continue conducting joint, coordinated, and interagency operations to combat organized armed groups and their illicit economies, such as drug trafficking, and thus continue contributing to the security of the residents of eastern Antioquia.
