The National Army disrupts illicit economic activities with the seizure of over 2,600 gallons of fuel and 10 tons of cement in Caquetá

The military operation was carried out by soldiers from the 36th Rapid Deployment Battalion, part of the 12th Rapid Deployment Force of the National Army, in conjunction with the 31st Navy Riverine Battalion of the Colombian Navy, in the rural area of Peñas Coloradas, located in the municipality of Cartagena del Chairá, Caquetá. During the operation, 2,643 gallons of gasoline and 10 tons of cement were seized—supplies frequently used to sustain illicit activities related to the drug trafficking chain, which are used throughout the entire process of manufacturing alkaloids, subsequently distributed clandestinely to different regions of the country and even to other countries.

According to preliminary investigations conducted by military intelligence, the seized materials were intended to strengthen the logistical capabilities of the Rodrigo Cadete Structure GAO-r, under the command of the individual known as alias Urías Perdomo, who belongs to the dissident faction led by alias Calarcá. The seized items were turned over to the Government Secretariat of Cartagena del Chairá, while authorities proceed with the corresponding legal proceedings. 

With this result, the National Army, through the Omega Task Force, continues to weaken the sources of financing and support for the criminal structures that threaten the security and stability of southeastern Colombia.
