Alias Templete, identified as a member of the armed wing of the illegal group, is allegedly involved in targeted killings, attacks against security forces, and other violent acts that occurred in Cartagena del Chairá.
As part of decisive operations aimed at weakening the criminal capabilities of residual organized armed groups operating in the south of the country, troops from the 35th Infantry Battalion “Héroes del Guepi” of the National Army’s 12th Brigade
successfully captured, pursuant to a court order, a suspected member of the Rodrigo Cadete structure GAO-r in the department of Caquetá.The military operation took place in the rural area of La Guadalosa, within the jurisdiction of the municipality of Cartagena del Chairá, where, thanks to the coordinated efforts of military intelligence and the investigative work carried out by judicial authorities, alias Templete, an alleged member of the armed wing of this illegal group, was located and captured.
According to investigations conducted by the competent authorities, alias Templete, 20 years old, is alleged to have served as a member of the RAER (support networks for residual structures) component and as the alleged second-in-command of the criminal organization’s hitman unit, under the orders of alias “La Morocha,” a commission leader of the Rodrigo Cadete structure GAO-r.
According to the arrest warrant issued by the 10th Local Prosecutor’s Office in Florencia, this individual was wanted for the crimes of homicide, aggravated homicide, aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime, and aggravated manufacture, trafficking, carrying, or possession of firearms.
Preliminary investigations indicate that this individual is allegedly linked to the attacks carried out against members of the National Police in the municipality of Cartagena del Chairá this year, criminal acts that resulted in four officers killed and five others wounded.
Likewise, information obtained by military intelligence indicates that alias Templete allegedly participated in various criminal acts related to targeted killings, contract killings, and acts of intimidation carried out by this illegal armed group in the department of Caquetá.
Similarly, this individual is allegedly involved in several homicides recorded in the region, including the murder of a peace signatory and, apparently, of some minors, incidents that are currently under investigation by the competent authorities.
According to the investigative record, this individual is believed to have begun his criminal activities in 2019, when he allegedly received orders from alias Tornillo to carry out homicides related to disputes over control of local drug trafficking in Cartagena del Chairá. Subsequently, between 2023 and 2024, he reportedly strengthened his role within the illegal organization alongside other members known by the aliases Mago, Niño, Enrique, Conejo, and Vallenato, allegedly participating in criminal meetings, intimidation activities, and armed actions against the civilian population and the security forces.
The capture of alias Templete represents a significant operational achievement for the Twelfth Brigade, as it directly impacts the territorial control, contract killing, and intimidation capabilities used by the Rodrigo Cadete structure GAO-r to instill fear among communities and sustain illicit economies in this region of the country.
Likewise, this operational result contributes to the weakening of the criminal networks responsible for targeted killings and other violent actions that affect the security and stability of the department of Caquetá, reaffirming the institutional commitment to the protection of the civilian population and the defense of life.
During the operation, the captured individual was extracted with air support from the National Army Aviation, ensuring his safe transfer and subsequent handover to the competent judicial authority to proceed with the respective legal proceedings.
The Twelfth Brigade of the National Army will continue to carry out sustained, coordinated, and interagency military operations to protect the civilian population, neutralize threats from illegal armed groups, and consolidate conditions of security and peace in southeastern Colombia.
