The Counter-Narcotics and Transnational Threats Command welcomes three incoming commanders to its units

At the airfield of the National Army's Air Assault Aviation Division, located at the Tolemaida Military Fort in Nilo, Cundinamarca, a ceremony was held to transfer command of three organic units of the Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats (CONAT in Spanish): namely the 2nd and 3rd Anti-Drug Trafficking Brigades and the Brigade Against Illegal Mining (BRCMI in Spanish).

The ceremony, presided over by Brigadier General Carlos Alberto Padilla Cepeda, commander of the Air Assault Aviation Division, and Colonel Alex Jefferson Mena Mena, commander of CONAT, allowed attendees to meet the senior officers who will lead these units, whose mission is to counteract the illicit economies resulting from drug trafficking and the crime of illicit exploitation of mineral deposits and other materials in the country.

In this context, BRCNA2 will be commanded by Colonel Edwin Ortiz Tascón, who previously served as the National Army's coordinator with the Special Administrative Unit of Military and Police Criminal Justice. Likewise, BRCNA3 will be led by Colonel Edwin Encinales Lota, an officer who previously served as Chief of Staff of this unit. Finally, BRCMI welcomes Colonel Jhaderson Germán Torres as its new commander, who comes from serving as Chief of the Personnel Department at CEDE1.

The event concluded with words of gratitude from the outgoing commanders of these units, who thanked the high command for the trust placed in them and their men, which allowed them to contribute to the stabilization and construction of territories through the development of military operations. They also wished the best of luck to the personnel who received their units.
