High-ranking noncommissioned officers ready to strengthen the mission of the Armed Forces

With an academic plan designed to strengthen the knowledge and skills required for the highest rank in the military career, the closing ceremony was held at the Military Forces Non-Commissioned Officers' Circle in Bogotá. The event was presided over by General Hugo Alejandro López Barreto, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Military Forces.

General López emphasized that the work of senior sergeants is essential to the institution, highlighting their leadership, assertive communication, and extensive experience, qualities that must continue to be strengthened for the benefit of the cohesion and effectiveness of the Forces.

The program included the participation of twenty-six sergeant majors from the Army and twelve sergeant majors and technical chiefs from the Navy, who shared a joint academic process that reaffirms inter-institutional unity and enhances the capabilities necessary to safeguard the peace of Colombians.

Special recognitions were awarded during the ceremony. Sergeant Major Fernando Arboleda Gómez was awarded the Sergeant Major Gilberto Díaz Velasco Leadership Award, established in 2025 by the Combined Arms School. Likewise, Sergeant Major Pablo Emilio Higuita Tamayo was honored for his physical excellence.

The National Army reaffirms that the continuous training and preparation of officers and noncommissioned officers is a fundamental pillar. Similarly, joint participation with other forces in academic exchange spaces strengthens institutional commitment and projects a future of greater integration and professionalism.
