For the first time, 768 young people took the oath of allegiance to the flag in public squares in Santander and southern Cesar

In an unprecedented event for the region, 768 soldiers of the National Army took their oath of allegiance to the flag in public squares and main parks of five strategic municipalities in northeastern Colombia, reaffirming their commitment to serve the nation and protect its citizens.

The solemn ceremonies took place in the municipalities of Aguachica, Cesar, and in Socorro, San Vicente de Chucurí, Barrancabermeja, and Bucaramanga, in Santander, allowing families and the community to share in this important moment in the young soldiers’ military careers.

The new soldiers reaffirmed their decision to join the ranks of the National Army and assume the responsibility of contributing to the security, stability, and defense of the national territory, especially within the framework of the operational deployment and actions outlined in the Democracy Plan.

These men will support security operations aimed at ensuring public order and the peace of mind of Colombians during the upcoming democratic processes and other constitutional missions carried out by the institution in support of the security and well-being of Colombians.

Likewise, during their time in military service, the soldiers will have access to the many benefits the institution offers, including life planning, financial, personal, and professional support, as well as opportunities to build a future grounded in discipline, leadership, and a sense of belonging to the country.
