La logística militar tiene sus raíces en la visión previsora e inteligente del General Francisco de Paula Santander, cuya labor fue fundamental para los triunfos del Ejército patriota, que lo llevaron a la victoria definitiva en Boyacá, el 7 de agosto de 1819. Desde entonces, su papel ha sido vital para apoyar de manera eficiente y eficaz al personal de las diferentes Armas del Ejército.
