On the National Army radio program Flor del Monte, commanders of brigades and battalions of Integral Action and Development Support presented the conclusions of the recent Commanders' Seminar, aimed at strengthening institutional coordination, the state's presence, and community trust in the territory.
Comprehensive Action and Development is a key tool of the National Army that integrates operational efforts with inter-institutional management and social components, contributing to the stabilization of the territory, the strengthening of citizen confidence, and the fulfillment of the Force's constitutional mission.
The seminar brought together the Comprehensive Action and Development Support Command, led by Colonel John Edward Páez Chinones, along with brigade commanders and representatives of the nine battalions deployed throughout the country. The objective was to align command criteria on the strategic use of this institutional capacity to consolidate territorial control, the legitimacy of the State, and the generation of sustainable operational effects.
During his appearance on the radio program, Colonel Iván Darío Fonseca, commander of the Comprehensive Action and Development Operations Battalion, emphasized that this space allowed for updating doctrine and strengthening the spirit of the specialty. He noted that progress is currently being made from the execution of isolated activities to comprehensive campaigns aimed at preventing recruitment, strengthening education, and coordinating efforts with different ministries and state entities, ensuring an effective institutional presence in vulnerable areas.
For his part, Colonel Carlos David Calderón Gutiérrez, commander of the No. 1 Comprehensive Action and Development Support Brigade, explained that the conclusions of the meeting translate into three measurable lines of action at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels, which will allow for progress from doctrinal reflection to the execution of a schedule with clear goals for the remainder of the year.
The seminar also featured the participation of Major General (ret.) Libardo Alberto Sepúlveda Riaño, who gave a lecture on the history and evolution of Comprehensive Action in Colombia. During the interview on the program, he recalled that this institutional capacity has evolved since 1954, adapting to the country's needs and the experience gained in the territory. He also invited soldiers deployed in remote regions to carry out their work with professionalism, transparency, and commitment to the communities.
This meeting consolidates an institutional vision in which security and development advance in a coordinated manner, reaffirming the leadership and coordination of commanders in favor of territorial stability and the well-being of Colombians. In this way, the National Army continues to strengthen its commitment to the country's progress and security.
