This event seeks to highlight the capacity for professional growth and integral development of women non-commissioned officers who are part of the Military Forces.
In the Auditorium of the Infantry School of the National Army, about 70 non-commissioned officers from all the Forces, including men and women, participate in person in the First Hybrid Seminar of Women Peace and Security, which takes place in Colombia and has the logistical support of the Southern Command of the United States. It should be noted that virtually this event has reached more than three hundred people in countries such as Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Paraguay, Guatemala, Spain, Mexico, and the United States.
Women non-commissioned officers of the Military Forces of these countries share their experiences, objectives, and projection in terms of the challenges and challenges of the future before an audience that stands out for its youth and the interest in learning to forge its leadership, its discipline, and its military vocation.
One of the first speakers was Sergeant Major Astrid Rubio Acosta, of the Student Battalion No. 02, of the Military School of Non-Commissioned Officers, who has more than 24 years of service and a successful career, which make her an example of professionalism, tenacity, the vocation of service and discipline for the new generations of non-commissioned officers.
This woman has worked with perseverance since her role as a non-commissioned officer of the National Army highlights the importance of working for gender equality and promotes the incorporation of women with physical and intellectual abilities so that they can exceptionally perform in any role of the Force.
Meanwhile, Joint Command Sergeant Major Luis Alfredo Bueno Márquez, one of the organizers of the seminar, highlighted the value of these spaces that contribute to the growth and integral development of the new generations of women non-commissioned officers. In addition, he stressed the efforts in gender equity made by the Colombian Military Forces against other armies of the continent.
