Soldiers save the life of a Clan Usuga member injured in combat

After an armed contact against Felipe Reyes Front of Clan Usuga criminal group serving drug traffickers, a member of such organization was injured and immediately received help from troops of 31st Airborne Infantry Battalion in order to safeguard his life. The operation took place in Corrales village, Caceres municipality, Antioquia. Once again, the Colombian Army ratifies its commitment and respect for Human Rights.
The individual named Ernel Valencia, alias Perea, a squad leader, suffered a femoral fracture on his left leg for a projectile during the cross fire. The injured was assisted by the combat nurse of the unit; after stabilizing him, he was taken by helicopter to a healthcare center in Caucasia municipality where he is recovering satisfactorily under the protection of the competent authority.
In this operation, Andy Alarcón Miranda, alias Calero, demobilized of Illegal self- defense Catatumbo Block, was captured.
The individuals were in possession of an M14 rifle, an AK-47 rifle, a revolver cal 38 mm, an IM 26 hand grenade, a 7.62 mm magazine, three 5.56 mm magazine, 337 cartridges 5.56 mm, 200 cartridges 7.62 mm, six cartridges 38 mm, two vests, a walkie-talkie radio and a cell phone.
Both individuals were delivered to Taraza 143 District Attorney under counts of manufacturing, trafficking and bearing of firearms and ammunition.
