Heroes that have gone down in history: their supreme sacrifice exalts the unconditional commitment of Colombian Soldiers

By the Fallen In Action Heroes monument, it was paid a deserved homage to COLAR men and women who have given their lives for the country; anonymous heroes that fell in fulfillment of duty, endlessly fighting to fulfill their constitutional mission, exercising sovereignty, and providing integrity to national territory.
This heroic task allow Colombian people to sleep peacefully and safety because a soldier of the country is there watchful, expectant, and ready to attack injustice and brutality of the enemies of the country.
This is why, every 19th of July it is commemorated with honor, deep feeling, and great patriotism, the supreme sacrifice of these heroes and their families, who selflessly and with a total conviction know that this struggle for freedom, welfare and peace of Colombian people has been a worthy cause.
The military ceremony of this year was attended by Major General Jaime Esguerra Santos, COLAR Inspector General, who along with Senior Commanders of other Services presented the floral tribute at the monument; after this solemn act, flag was honored, and afterwards the testimony of privates, NCOs, and families of the officers who are faithful evidence of this supreme sacrifice continued. The ceremony ended dedicating to anonymous heroes already in eternity the poem why soldiers die? and the prayer to homeland.
