The FARC sets fire to a Pluspetrol helicopter in the Eastern Plains (Llanos Orientales)
March 24, 2010
A group of Farc troops set fire to a helicopter of the multi-national Argentinean oil company Pluspetrol, in the plains (llanos) in south east Colombia.
The Colombian Air Force (FAC) announced in a communication that the terrorist act took place Monday at the Pluspetrol camp, in the rural zone of Mapiripán, located in the department of Guaviare.
The military authorities of the region attribute it to the Farc’s 30th Front. The Argentinean company operates an oilfield in the Llanos Orientales, being one of the four South American countries that has operations there. Pluspetrol, which operates in Argentina and Colombia, also has operations in Bolivia and Peru.
