The Beginning
The creation of the Colombian National Army shows the conviction of the people for the liberty and love for their country.

Shield
The Chief’s right canton will be of gules, with two golden rifles, with belts of the same material, of which one will go in bar and the other in band that is to say, in cross:

The left canton in gold symbolizes trial, intelligence, spirit maturity, nobility, magnanimity, wealth, capacity and wisdom. This barracks has two gold crossed sables in sotuer that represent the cavalry whose patron, San Jorge, is a mirror of gentile men.
The right canton of the tip in sable means the idea of the mysterious shade, wisdom, without repairs, characterizes what is beyond the intelligence, dry color that evokes the iron, the ashes. It also symbolizes sadness, rigor, humility and frankness, mourning color.
It takes in gold two cannon barrels in sotuer, par excellence the badge of the Artillery men that on December four evoke their saint patron, Santa Bárbara.
The left canton of the tip takes the purple with a three battlemented towers castle in gold.
The purple means modesty, wisdom, humility, solitude, desire and nostalgia for the victory, it is the color of the cherry in season.
The castle with battlemented towers speaks of the invigoration achieved with the help of will and the human effort.
Stamp
The shield will be stamped by a helmet in steel brown discoloration looking to the right like symbol of genuineness. The bald patch of the helmet will take as cimera three feathers with the National Flag colors.
